Yesterday I received my September 2011 issue of bon appétit magazine, The Restaurant Issue featuring America’s Top 10 tables.
I was excited to learn that I have visited the #2 listed restaurant for this issues, “The Foodists Top 10 Best New Restaurants of 2011.”
Mission Chinese Food, in San Francisco, CA.
My friend Ravi knows all the yummy food spots, pretty much everywhere in the world. So while we’re walking in San Francisco thinking of what to eat for breakfast (it’s 1:30pm) he suggest we go to this Chinese spot. In my head I’m thinking hmmm, I don’t know… because I pictured a mom and pop style Panda Express, something I wasn’t into at the moment. But this dude has food on lock, he knows whats up so I try not to question him, when it comes to food. Anyway, so we get there and he just orders up a storm for us to share, food I’ve never tried or thought to try, but you know me, I welcome new flavors to ze mouth.
Ravi said we were lucky there was no line when we got there. The service isn’t A+, and the spot is not all romantical and shit, but you can definitely feel the clean good food vibes and its not too expensive, cash only. One of the chefs was tatted up, and looked a little punk rock, they also had what looked like moms and grandmas and poppas working there. The food was so different from anything I’ve tried, been around the world and I, Iiii, but I have not had asian food like this, as I have not yet hit the Asias.
When you go to San Francisco definitely make it a point to try this spot. I really enjoyed the tingly lamb noodle soup as pictured in the magazine, and my photo, oh! and that tiger salad in my photo, also a must try. P.S. Everything was pretty spicy. I am training for the spice. teehee

I’m hungry now.
Keep in mind that I am not saying that this is the #2 restaurant on my list. Unfortunately I was not paid to travel to 250 restaurants around the United States, like Andrew Knowlton was for this issue, but I still recommend Mission Chinese Food if you’re in San Francisco, California and if you like trying new foods, annnd you don’t mind spicy.
Okay, so last thing-
I was also excited to learn that I can try one other restaurant on this list because its located in Los Angeles. Yeeeeeeaaay.
