These Seedbombs are made from a mixture of clay, compost and specifically picked out seeds of different plants for different weather types
Then Greenaid individually packages the seedbombs in vending machines all around the US making guerilla gardening as easy as buying a 25 cent gum from the gumball machine.

Shame On Target

I pass this house most every friday morning during my cab ride to work. I’ve never met the owners of the house nor have I ever seen them but I most definitely am familiar with their work. You know that crazy dude in your neighborhood that overly decorates their house with really horrible holiday decorations? Well this house is no where near to being that horrible. Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving those are the usual times of the year that most people decorate their homes but not this house. They’re known for displaying their political views on the roof tops of their home, no matter the display they always seem to get a lot of grief for their freedom of speech. Protesters visit this house so often they probably know the address by memory. They’ve been on the news a few times, maybe you can remember a couple of years back when they had the burning McCain and Sarah Palin hanging from a noose?

This time their display caught my eye for sure “Boycott” in red on a huge glittery sign and little target signs in garbage bins.
Boycott Target?!?! whhhhhhyyyy??? I love Target. They always have everything I need plus some. I had heard about this boycott business before but I hadn’t really gotten into why they were being boycotted.
First thing I did when I got to work was googled it and found out that Target had donated $150,000 to a group that is running ads that back up republican candidate for governor in Minnesota, Tom Emmer who is known for opposing same-sex marriage. Target customers who are gay or have gay loved ones are furious! Target has been known as an ally to the gay rights movement and had even participated in many gay pride parades years.

While browsing after browsing I found a few videos that may be of interest to you , here is one of them:

I haven’t purchased from target in a while and i’m not sure when I’m planning on doing it in the future but I might consider taking my business else where if I can find another place where I can get all my household goods. I don’t have a car so the places I can shop are very limited but boycotting them till they realize what they’re are doing is wrong might not be so bad after all. Every little bit helps… especially when you consider the amount of money spent at Target in one time. I can spend a little over $100 every month, Now imagine if 100 people didn’t spend that amount of money… That would be a huge chunk of change for one store not to rake in from sales, how would that go unnoticed?

This definitely isn’t a blog to try to convince you to boycott, this is just a blog to keep you informed so you can make the choices you feel are fit with your beliefs.

Here is a link if you’d like to read a bit more:
Target Spending Company Money on Candidates

I’m off to New York for a few days
and when I return i’m sure i’ll have plenty of blogging material.
Till then,

Fly High!

Feed You To The Worms

Hello My Fellow Garbage Lovers!!
Today I’d like to introduce to you a few other friendly garbage lovers I know.
Born and raised purveyors of nutrient enriched soil. Working hard to feed your indoor plants, outdoor garden and mini farm.

Say Hello to my little squirmy wormies!

This weekend I started my own compost bin!! Much like ZeBek’s worm farm How exciting:)

What is compost you ask?
Compost is the recycling of natural organic material that people consume in their day to day lives.
Fruits, veggies, newspaper, toilet paper rolls and even egg shells can be used to feed our worm friends who turn our garbage into more food for your plants!!
This also helps stop all that extra build up of junk in land fills (creates less work for your garbage men) and also helps people feel a little bit more obligated to recycle their recyclables,
cutting back on the actual garbage you do throw out.

It usually takes a few months before you have any usable soil to plant, but when my soil is usable I will definitely be using it to plant an herb garden!!
I’ll keep you up to date on how my herb garden turns out when the time comes but until then enjoy this instead:

These two guys, Ian and Curt have joined forces and started a farm in their truck!! that’s right I said it. A fully operated farm in the bed of their old dodge truck. They traveled all around the east coast sharing their farm with schools and hosting special events to raise awareness that you don’t need to own a piece of land to have a farm. They filmed the process from begining to end to release a documentary to help start a larger movement for young farmers, urban agriculturist and to help prove that we can have fresh organic greens delivered to your door even though you live in the city.

Check out one of their mini episodes here:

Crystal Ann is our new contributor yay! She’s girl on girl friendly, guy on guy friendly, she’s just all around friendly especially with the bitches, and boy dogs too. She’s like the opposite of Cruella De Vil from 101 Dalmatians, she loves animals!

C. Ann runs her own blog which is pretty inspirational if you’re ever looking for that sort of awesome thing.

Here’s C. Ann’s logo:

ge·opha·gy
(jē äf′ə jē)
: the practice of eating earthy substances (as clay) that in humans is performed especially to augment a scanty or mineral-deficient diet or as part of a cultural tradition—called also earth eating;
fiend (fēnd): to devote or surrender (oneself) to something habitually or obsessively

So thats a little about her from her site. After reading what her name meant it made me think of this clay mask i like to do every now and then. Totally works!
Here’s all you need!

A plastic spoon and a bowl, and viola! Follow the easy directions on the clay. Each of these items are $5-$7 and the clay can last for a year, the apple cider vinegar can last for a long while toooo. Its all organic fun. You make the paste, leave it on your face, wash it off and wowza, your skin is perfect in two days. Plan ahead, dont do it before a photo shoot or a date. I’m telling you tho, you will love your skin. I even mud masked my bootay and my ass was feelin’ pretty fine. Next time i’ll include photos of masking fun. =)

Til then, please say hi to our new writer. It takes a lot of time and effort to put together these posts for ya’ll to read for fun learning. =)

We love you long time,
ZeBekgarbage

Love the World

My name is Crystal Ann and i am “green” friendly: paper makin’ , herb smokin’, earth lovin‘.
your neighborly Geophagyfiend. Take a stroll with me ‘Round the Hippie Tree, and live a green life more consciously.

Did you know that you could love yourself or others while still lovin’ your planet at the same time?!?
Check out this awesome personal lubricant by Yes.

Yes the only certified organic lube that is created from pure all natural ingredients.
This lube is made of plant extracts which also serves as a moisturizing food to your skin. No growth hormones, added chemicals, pesticides, or silicone in this love lotion. And for those of you worried about your little furry friends, no animal body parts either.

Most lubricants found in drug stores and sex shops contain chemicals found in oven cleaner, brake fluid and antifreeze and even more chemicals that have been shown to cause cancer in animals, liver and kidney damage and convulsions.
Your mouth, vaginal, and anal areas are known as mucus membranes that are directly linked to your internal organs. 60% of what you put on your skin can be absorbed into the body. which means all those synthetically dyed and flavored lubes people are using right now though they may seem fun for the moment can lead to much more serious concerns later.

Whether you decide to try Yes or venture out into the world and find a personal lube to suit your needs.

There are just a few guidelines to keep in mind while choosing one that’s right for you. remember to stay away from glycerine, parabens, diethanolamine or DEA and synthetic menthol. Your lover will thank you for it!
