Downtown Los Angeles, CA.

Here’s a tiny preview from the photo shoot I worked on last week.

As needed, as usual I will be going out of town this weekend to chillax with my homegirl DEJa in Las Vegas! I will be getting there via Airplane for the first time. I imagine us sitting poolside with a book in one hand, drink in the other, and our writing tools under our lounge chairs next to our notepad. I’ll post up some photos when I return.

<3, ZeBekgarbage:. not my dream car. one of my future cars. I'm glossy like an Aston Martin.

bon appétit magazine

Yesterday I received my September 2011 issue of bon appétit magazine, The Restaurant Issue featuring America’s Top 10 tables.

bon appétit magazine

I was excited to learn that I have visited the #2 listed restaurant for this issues, “The Foodists Top 10 Best New Restaurants of 2011.”

bon appétit magazine
Mission Chinese Food, in San Francisco, CA.

My friend Ravi knows all the yummy food spots, pretty much everywhere in the world. So while we’re walking in San Francisco thinking of what to eat for breakfast (it’s 1:30pm) he suggest we go to this Chinese spot. In my head I’m thinking hmmm, I don’t know… because I pictured a mom and pop style Panda Express, something I wasn’t into at the moment. But this dude has food on lock, he knows whats up so I try not to question him, when it comes to food. Anyway, so we get there and he just orders up a storm for us to share, food I’ve never tried or thought to try, but you know me, I welcome new flavors to ze mouth.

Click on de photo to read my little notes.
We ordered up a storm. To the right you are looking at a flavorful tiger salad.

Ravi said we were lucky there was no line when we got there. The service isn’t A+, and the spot is not all romantical and shit, but you can definitely feel the clean good food vibes and its not too expensive, cash only. One of the chefs was tatted up, and looked a little punk rock, they also had what looked like moms and grandmas and poppas working there. The food was so different from anything I’ve tried, been around the world and I, Iiii, but I have not had asian food like this, as I have not yet hit the Asias.
When you go to San Francisco definitely make it a point to try this spot. I really enjoyed the tingly lamb noodle soup as pictured in the magazine, and my photo, oh! and that tiger salad in my photo, also a must try. P.S. Everything was pretty spicy. I am training for the spice. teehee

I’m hungry now.

Keep in mind that I am not saying that this is the #2 restaurant on my list. Unfortunately I was not paid to travel to 250 restaurants around the United States, like Andrew Knowlton was for this issue, but I still recommend Mission Chinese Food if you’re in San Francisco, California and if you like trying new foods, annnd you don’t mind spicy.

Okay, so last thing-
I was also excited to learn that I can try one other restaurant on this list because its located in Los Angeles. Yeeeeeeaaay.

UM CHELLO? My birthday is coming up… who wants to take me to eat at Son of a Gun???? :)
Actually, off the topic because I’ll probably go there before my birthday arrives, here’s the actual place I really want you to take me to for my birthday-
Inn of the Seventh Ray

Who wants to take me for my birthday?

Foodie with boobies,

behind the scenes from last night’s photo-shoot.

just kidding [=

The Lovers of Valdaro.

Believed to be no older than twenty years of age when death occurred.
Over 5,000 years old.
Locked in an eternal embrace.

Tragically, their story is unknown.
Ironically, they were found in the city of Mantua. In Italy.
The city Shakespeare chose to set the story of Romeo & Juliet.

can’t get enough of this: White boy lovin’ the brown music.
