Meatless Mondays is a non profit campaign to help reduce your meat consumption by at least 15%, to better your eating habits and help the planet too.
By cutting out just a little meat from your diet you can help reduce the risk of chronic illnesses like cancer, Cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity. It also helps reduce your carbon footprint and saves important resources like water.
It takes 1,800 – 2,500 gallons of water to make 1 pound of ground beef. 1/5 of the green gas emissions are made by the meat industry.
Don’t forget those poor helpless creatures living in horrid conditions and being murdered to feed our already fat bellies!
Sodexo is a catering company who provides already made food to Schools, Corporate Offices and Hospitals.
Who has also joined the meatless movement? Celebrities like Olivia Wild, Kate Moss, Gwyneth Paltrow and Sir Paul McCarthey have committed to Meatless Mondays also. Even Oprah has joined in on healthy food options and has begun offering Vegan options to her employees at Harpo Studios.
Now I’m not saying to stop eating meat entirely because I love a good juicy burger as much as the next person and lord knows I could eat sushi everyday all day, but imagine the difference it would make for your health, for the animals and for your planet if everyone stopped eating so much meat in excess???
